It all started when Dan Fox, an accomplished multi-instrument musician, moved to Arlington in the mid-2000s and invited people over regularly to play music together. Word spread quickly and more musicians wanted to join to play in a relaxed band setting with guidance from a seasoned instructor. He realized he was going to need a bigger space. In 2007, Dan founded Morningside Music Studio in Arlington Center, and what started as 1 ensemble became one of the largest ensemble programs in New England, hosting over 25 ensemble groups for all ages and levels.

Today, Morningside Music has grown to 3 locations and provides a variety of services spanning a music school, music lessons, ensemble groups, music tour travels, the non-profit Arlington Jazz Festival, an entire community of music enthusiasts, and more to come!
