Mickey Fox

Mickey Fox is a registered member of the Suzuki Association of the Americas and has completed registered teacher training with Ed Sprunger and David Strom.
 

A violinist, sculptor, and ceramicist based in Boston, Mickey began their own musical journey with the Suzuki method at age five, an experience that shapes how they teach today. Having grown up inside this method, Mickey brings not just technical training but a firsthand understanding of what it feels like to be a young student learning violin the Suzuki way.
 

Mickey has extensive experience working with children and specializes in the youngest beginners, currently welcoming students ages 4–6. Pre-Twinklers are a particular joy to teach, and Mickey is known for making those first lessons, learning to hold a bow, finding a comfortable posture, feel playful and approachable rather than intimidating.
 

Outside the studio, Mickey's work as a sculptor and ceramicist informs their teaching style: hands-on, patient, and attentive to the physical, tactile side of learning an instrument. Mickey also places strong emphasis on the Suzuki triangle, working closely with parents and caregivers so they can serve as confident practice partners at home throughout their child's musical development.
